Ireland will be without Munster prop Marcus Horan for their taxing November international campaign due to injury.

The 66-cap loose-head broke a bone in his wrist during a gym session on Monday and while specialists are yet to confirm the exact nature of the injury he is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks.

Leinster's Cian Healy and Ulster's Tom Court offer other options in the No.1 jersey and as yet there has been no move to draft in added resources.

Ireland face South Africa on November 6 in the first Test staged at the new Aviva Stadium before facing New Zealand, Argentina and Samoa.

Meanwhile, Munster hooker Jerry Flannery has travelled to Liverpool to seek specialist advice on the calf injury he suffered during last weekend's Heineken Cup win over Toulon.
