Glasgow Warriors have signed winger Junior Bulumakau from British Army on a one-year contract.

Bulumakau, who has been in training with the Warriors for the past two months, played in the preseason game against Clermont in France last Friday.

The fixture saw the Warriors on the wrong end of 28-10 defeat but it included the 24-year-old's remarkable try scored from the halfway line, an indication of the things to come from the Fiji-born winger.

Bulumakau has previously played for Heriot's in the BT Premiership, while in May he scored a try for the British Army and was named man of the match in their 36-18 win over the Royal Navy at Twickenham. He becomes the second winger to join the club ahead of the new campaign, with Tagele Naiyarayo the other addition.

Speaking exclusively to the official Glasgow Warriors website, Bulumakau said: "It's a huge honour to sign for the Guinness PRO12 champions and I'm really happy to be here.

"I'd like to thank Glasgow Warriors for taking me on trial and offering me a contract. Opportunities like this only come along once and you need to grab them.

"I enjoyed playing my first game for the club on Friday and I can't wait to run out at Scotstoun."

The Warriors are set to start their title defense on the 5th September when they welcome Scarlets to Scotstoun, a game Bulumakau will undoubtedly have his eyes on to finally make his competitive debut.
