Newport Gwent Dragons have confirmed that Lyn Jones will leave the club at the end of the season. Jones only officially joined the club in January as a consultant, with particular focus on contact skills and attack, but has engaged a break clause in his 18-month contract in order to take up the role of Director of Rugby at The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) in Abu Dhabi.

"Being part of the coaching set-up of the Newport Gwent Dragons provided me with a great opportunity to help a team that continues to develop and grow," said former Ospreys head coach Jones. "There's nothing quite like being a part of an organisation developing talent and pushing back the boundaries of what can be achieved from within and, with the Dragons, it's been a chance to play an active part in assisting a team very much on the rise.

"The opportunity offered by BSAK gives us a chance as a family to broaden our horizons, experience a new culture and for me to take on a new challenge in expanding my career."

Jones joined the Dragons as a consultant in January 2009, having worked with the Magners League side since November 2008. He left his post with the Ospreys at the end of the 2007-08 season after guiding them to Anglo-Welsh cup victory over Leicester at Twickenham in 2008.
