Mark Webber will start from the pit lane at the Chinese Grand Prix after Red Bull broke parc ferme rules to change the gearbox and make set-up changes to the No.2 car.

Webber was excluded from qualifying and sent to the back of the grid for failing to provide a sufficient fuel sample on Saturday. His car came to a halt in Q2 due to a fuelling issue in the Red Bull pit, ruining his chances of a top ten grid slot.

Red Bull has elected to change the set-up on his car in order to tailor it towards overtaking with longer gear ratios and more emphasis on top speed. The team did the same with Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull in Abu Dhabi last year and he went on to finish on the podium.

Under parc ferme regulations, changes are not allowed to made to car set-ups between qualifying and the race, hence the reason Webber will start from the pit lane rather the grid.
