England Saxons captain Luke Narraway has been ruled out of the Churchill Cup with a back injury.

The Gloucester No.8 sat out last weekend's 87-8 win against the USA at Franklin's Gardens and will now miss Sunday's match against Tonga at his club side's home ground, Kingsholm and finals day.

Jordan Crane led the Saxons to their record win over the USA and with no replacement due to be added, it is expected he will now captain the Saxons for the duration of the Churchill Cup.

"Although the problem should settle down pretty quickly, Luke's not going to be available for the next two games," England Saxons head coach Stuart Lancaster said.

"It's a shame to lose him, as he's an important part of our squad and has been in good form, but we're confident we've got a good replacement in Jordan Crane, who led the side well against the USA."
