The Welwitschias claimed a 22-10 victory in Windhoek to set the seal on a 40-23 aggregate win - following their 18-13 win in Tunis two weeks ago in the first leg of their play-off.

Namibia's qualification now completes Pool D which includes Fiji, Samoa, South Africa and Wales. In their first match on September 10, Namibia will face tenth-ranked Fiji at Rotorua International Stadium. They will remain in Rotorua for their second Pool Match on September 14 against Samoa. The team will then travel to the North Shore to take on RWC 2007 Champions and current world number two team South Africa at North Harbour Stadium on September 22. In their final Pool Match on September 26, Namibia will come up against Wales at Stadium Taranaki in New Plymouth.

Namibia have competed in the past three Rugby World Cup tournaments and are currently ranked 22nd in the International Rugby Board (IRB) World Rankings. Their qualification makes them the 16th team to join RWC 2011, leaving four more spots to be contested prior to 2011 - Europe 1, Europe 2, Asia 1 and the Play-off winner.

Asked if Australia had identified the Welsh scrum as a potential weakness, Deans said, "That would be fair. Their tight-five do not have a lot of background, but it is also an area that has been going well for us.

"We are stoked this group took the step they did. We have been waiting for it to come, and we have been close, but the boys got it done. You play Test rugby on the day. There is just no point in trying to connect the dots between matches. A week is a long time in this game, as we have just seen.

"I give a lot of credit to our blokes for making it happen. Also, maybe Wales underestimated us. Maybe they saw we came up short against Scotland and thought we were there for the taking."
