England spinner Graeme Swann has been overhauled by South Africa seamer Morne Morkel at the top of the ICC One Day International player rankings.

Swann endured a woeful series as England lost 5-0 in India - taking two wickets at 95.50 each - and has now dropped to third, behind Morkel and Daniel Vettori of New Zealand.

Morkel claimed 4 for 22 in the Proteas' win over Australia on Sunday, enough for him to leap four places and assume top rank.

Swann was omitted from the England team for the fourth ODI but returned for the fifth, sending down eight wicketless overs that went for 45 runs.

In the batting list, India captain MS Dhoni and England's Jonathan Trott now share third position, having plundered 212 runs and 202 runs respectively in the series. South Africa's Hashim Amla is No. 1, with his countryman AB de Villers No. 2.
