Flintoff not planning T20 return

Andrew Flintoff has insisted he has given no thought to a return to T20 cricket.

Flintoff retired from all forms of cricket in 2010, but he is back in the spotlight after deciding to embark on a career as a professional boxer.

The 34-year-old is due to make his debut at the end of this month and he has slimmed down considerably, with reports suggesting he has lost three stone and is in excellent shape.

Some have dismissed Flintoff's move into boxing as a publicity stunt, while the idea of a return to cricket has been floated. His retirement from the game was on account of injury, but there are many senior figures still operating in the shortest format of the game.

Flintoff misses the game, but claims he is not interested in a return for T20 action.

Speaking to the Sun, Flintoff said: "Before I was this fit I'd think 'I could play again' every day. And when I'm 50 I'll be thinking 'I could still play'. I've not made it a secret that I miss playing cricket.

"I finished at 31, that was my last game, and I wanted to play for Lancashire for a couple of years to give back to the county that gave me so much. That wasn't to be.

"You can dream and you can daydream but it's not happening really.

"I've not picked up a bat in a while. There are a lot of good players out there without delving into people like myself.

"I've got cricket academies up and down the country. I enjoy playing cricket with my two boys and taking them. I've had my time."
