Anderson: Trott 'relishes' heated showdowns

James Anderson claims Jonathan Trott will revel in the pressure of the final day's play as England look to seal a series victory over India.

England are on the verge of a first series win on Indian soil since 1985, needing only to draw the fourth Test in Nagpur. They currently lead by 165 runs and have seven wickets remaining.

Trott and Ian Bell reached stumps unbeaten on 66 and 24 respectively, and the former became a target of Indian frustration during the final session.

Ishant Sharma celebrated a caught behind that was not given - correctly - by the umpire, while Trott capitalised on a spilled ball by Ravindra Jadeja by slapping it for a boundary. As tempers flared, the England man appeared to taunt the home side at one stage by blowing a kiss to Ishant.

Now he must ensure England do not lose quick wickets on the fifth morning, a session that Anderson labels "crucial". In Anderson's eyes, Trott is the ideal character to lead England to victory.

"I think he quite enjoys it," Anderson said. "Some batsmen are really determined and I think he's the sort of guy that would relish that battle and really try to get stuck in.

"When we're in the middle of a tough Test match, a crucial Test match, things are going to get heated from time to time.

"There's still a long way to go in the game. The first hour will be crucial. If we can get through that then hopefully we can build a couple of good partnerships and make sure the game is safe."
