Six matches featured this weekend in week five of Rugby Super League action.

Tons of rugby in the State of Colorado highlights Western Conference action this weekend. Hennie Vilojean faces a tough task getting his Dallas Harlequins on track when they face table toppers the Gentlemen of Aspen in Aspen. The Gentlemen are liberally staffed with national players and have stormed to an 8 point conference lead.

In the other mile-high affair, Old Puget Sound Beach returns after a two week absence to verify whether they are for real. After never winning a Rugby Super League match in any previous season, they upended Dallas in Dallas this year before making Aspen work hard in a low scoring affair in Seattle. This weekend they take on Juan Grobler and Andre Blom in a Denver Barbarian side still looking for some consistency.

Western Conference play finishes up with Old Mission Beach Athletic Club hosting Old Blues at the Little Q in San Diego. OMBAC coach Joe Leota's troops are working had to stay in reach of Aspen but their cause was not helped by a draw with Golden Gate two weeks ago. They will be looking to gain maximum points versus the 1-1 Bay area team.

Mid-season action in the Eastern Conference sees new conference leaders Kansas City headed to Beantown to take on Boston Rugby. Last weekend, another solid performance by the Blues was substantially aided by Boston's upset of Life. After giving KC a hand, Boston could take it right back with another strong performance at home extending the current 2 game winning streak.

Life University will look to recover from last weekend's stunning reversal when they host Old Blue of New York. John Holtzman, Chip Curtis, and former Old Blue fullback Dan Kennedy will figure into Life's attempt to get back on track. Captain Craig Levine, flyhalf Mark Dempsey, and Brad Kaeilner will counter for Old Blue.

In the other Eastern conference match of the weekend, Potomac Athletic Club visits Chicago for a match against the Lions. Neither team has been able to show any sustained form but a victory for either will get that team to .500 for the season. Washington and Philadelphia-Whitemarsh have the weekend off.
