The Golden Lions were crowned 2015 Currie Cup champions after defeating Western Province 32-24 in the final at Ellis Park. The victory marked the Lions' 11th Currie Cup triumph having won all 12 of their matches this season to eclipse their defeat in last year's final.

The Lions did the damage in the opening 40 minutes as Warren Whiteley crossed the whitewash before Ross Cronje added two more tries for the Lions before the break. Seven additional points from the boot of Marnitz Boshoff further extended their advantage before Robert du Preez, who landed an early penalty to get Western Province on the board, crossed a minute into injury time and converted to reduce the deficit to 22-10 at half time.

Rohan Janse van Rensburg scored immediately for the Lions after the restart, with Boshoff adding the extras, but Western Province hit back immediately through Nizaam Carr's try and a Du Preez conversion. Another Boshoff penalty saw the Lions increase their lead by three points.

Sikhumbuzo Notshe's try from a rolling maul was converted by Kurt Coleman as Western Province pushed for the comeback, but Chris Van Zyl's late yellow card meant the Lions were able to close out victory.
