Bradley Wiggins has confirmed he will likely be acting as a domestique for Chris Froome at next year's Tour de France, with the Giro d'Italia his priority.

Wiggins became the first Brit to win the Tour when powering to glory in 2012, but the route in 2013 is likely to favour the climbers and with that in mind it had been suggested Froome would be the Sky leader.

The Olympic time trial champion has effectively confirmed that will be the case, with his focus being on the Giro.

"I am probably going to concentrate on the Giro next year," Wiggins told Eurosport. "That is the only race, along with Paris-Roubaix, that is up there with the Tour de France in terms of history. It is just beautiful and I would love to win the Pink jersey as well as the Yellow."

Commenting on the Tour, Wiggins added: "I will be at the start, that's for sure. If Chris is the leader then we go for it.

"My priority is the Tour of Italy and it is apparent that it is tough to compete in two grand tours at that level so it is more than likely I will be there in a helping capacity."
