Wiggins, Froome 'can work together' for Tour win

Chris Froome and Sir Bradley Wiggins can co-exist to deliver Team Sky's third Yellow Jersey on the bounce, according to their teammate.

Wiggins became the first British winner of the Tour de France in 2012, but his bid to win back-to-back titles was ended by a knee injury.

In his absence however, fellow Brit Froome ensured Team Sky triumphed again, leading to questions over whether the pair can work together to deliver a third straight win.

"As long as Brad wants to do it and I think that he does. I think if you set your objectives clearly, going into the race, then I don't see why not," Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh told Cyclingnews.

Tensions began to grow between the pair when Froome appeared to launch an attack on Wiggins during Stage 11 in the Alps on the 2012 Tour.

It was later revealed by David Walsh in the Times that Wiggins withheld Froome's winnings from the part he played in the victory until shortly before the World Championships last year.

However Kennaugh, who was one of eight riders to help Froome to victory last year, played down any lingering resentment on either side. "Everything seemed fine in the last camp," he said of their relationship.
