Chris Froome remains 27 seconds off the Tour of Spain lead after Nacer Bouhanni triumphed in a sprint finish to claim stage two of the race.

Team FDJ.fr's Bouhanni saw off German John Degenkolb and Italy's Roberto Ferrari to the line at the end of Sunday's 174.4 kilometre route, completing the stretch from Algeciras to San Fernando in four hours one minute and 30 seconds.

All time gaps between the riders remain the same following on from Saturday's opening team time trial stage, in which Team Sky and Froome failed to make an impact.

That means Movistar dominate the overall leaders board, with 2009 winner Alejandro Valverde having taken over the red jersey from team-mate Jonathan Castroviejo.

Fellow Movistar rider and race favourite Nairo Quintana remains second in the overall standings, while Nathan Haas ensured Garmin-Sharp recovered from their poor time trial to claim the early king of the mountains jersey.
