Great Britain lead the way at Track World Cup

World champions Great Britain qualified fastest in the women's team pursuit on the opening day of the Track World Cup in London.

Olympic champions Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell returned to the Olympic Velodrome in Team GB kit for the first time their gold medal triumph at London 2012.

The pair were joined by Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker four-kilometre team pursuit in a combination which won the World Championships in Colombia last February.

Great Britain advanced to the semi-finals with a time of four minutes 23.406 seconds and will face fourth-fastest qualifiers United States, who clocked four minutes 32.523 seconds, in the last four.

Australia qualified second with a time of four minutes 23.208 seconds and will meet third-fastest qualifiers Canada in the second semi-final, with the medals being decided later on Friday.
