Contador doubt for Tour de France

Alberto Contador is likely to miss this year's Tour de France due to the continuing investigation into his positive doping test.
Contador, who won the Tour in 2007, 2009 and 2010, was provisionally suspended from competition after failing a test during last year's event. International Cycling Union president Pat McQuaid believes the 28-year-old Spaniard will not be fit enough for this year's competition, even if he is cleared of any wrongdoing.
"It is not a good place to be for Contador at the moment," McQuaid said. "We could assume that it's a possibility that he will not be at the Tour de France."
The Spanish federation are currently examining Contador's case, with a verdict on the matter not expected before the end of January. The 2011 Tour de France begins on July 2.
