Contador CAS ruling not expected before 2012

Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador is unlikely to learn the outcome of the Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing into his failed dope test until 2012, sport's highest court has revealed.
Contador tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol during the 2010 Tour de France. He claimed this was on account of eating contaminated meat and was subsequently cleared by the Spanish federation (RFEC), only for the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to appeal against the decision to the CAS.
The hearing has been taking place this week, with Contador giving evidence to the three-man arbitration panel on Wednesday.
"In the morning of November 24, 2011, the CAS panel...will hear the parties' closing submissions at the CAS premises," the court said in a statement. "The hearing will be closed at 12.30pm. There will be no press conference after the hearing.
"The CAS decision in this matter is not expected before the end of 2011."
Contador, a three-time winner of the Tour de France, could face a two-year ban if found guilty.
