Wolfie Adams crashes out

Three-time champion Martin Adams was dumped out of the BDO World Masters after he was beaten by new kid on the block Rohit David.

Adams, who won the title three years running between 2008 and 2010, suffered a 3-1 defeat to the highly-rated Norwegian at Hull's City Hall.

There was another major shock as Paul Brown upset the odds to send defending champion Scott Waites home. He will now take on Steve Douglas on day two, after Douglas defeated John Walton 3-2.

However, top seed Steve Bunting survived a scare as he came from behind to defeat Rick Hofstra 3-2. He will face Benito Van De Pas in the next round following the Dutchman's 3-2 triumph over Gary Thompson.

Elsewhere, Jim Williams beat Jan Dekker 3-1, while it was the same margin of victory for Scott Mitchell over Andy Boulton.
