Phil Taylor cruised past Dave Chisnall 6-0 to take his 11th World Grand Prix title at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin in what was the first final whitewash in the tournament's history.

The Power was ruthless from the off and gave his opponent no chance - so much so that Chisnall did not even have a shot at double until the first leg of the sixth set.

He took that to win his first leg of the match, having lost the previous 15, but it was a mere stutter in Taylor's destruction as he went on to win the race to six in straight sets.

"I feel sorry for Dave, I really do," Taylor said. "It's his first major final. He's going to be the 'the kid' in a few years' time.

"They [the crowd] wanted Dave to make a game of it really. I'm very sorry. These people have paid good money and come out to see us and it's been a bit of a whitewash. I'm sorry about that but that's my job. Sometimes in boxing you get a knockout within 10 seconds.

"That's the way you've got to be. You've got to have that bit of a killer in you."

The victory is Taylor's 73rd major title in the PDC.
