'I screamed like a lunatic' - Anderson blown away by nine-darter

An emotional Kyle Anderson admitted it was a special moment to hit a perfect nine-dart finish on stage at the PDC World Championship and quickly paid tribute his brother Beau, who was watching at Alexandra Palace.

Anderson became the second player in the space of an hour to hit a nine-darter and lose, after Terry Jenkins achieved the same - plus a magical 170 checkout - in his 3-2 defeat to Per Laursen in the previous match.

The Australian eventually bowed out with a 3-1 defeat to Ian White, but revealed he had lost all train of thought following his celebrations.

"I still haven't come down from it to be honest," Anderson told ESPN. "After hitting it I wasn't here. I was on cloud nine, as Ian put it in there [the arena]. It was something different, you just can't explain it."

Anderson earned himself a share of £30,000 - the total pot to be shared among players who hit a nine-dart finish in the tournament - and revealed he celebrated Jenkins' finish "like a lunatic."

"Give me a piece of wood now so I can touch it," Anderson said. "To have two in one night is a feat in itself. I watched Terry [Jenkins] in the back when he did it and I was screaming like a lunatic. Then and when I did [it], sure enough I screamed like a lunatic as well. I'm part of history and I'm glad to be a part of it."

In immediate celebration after hitting back-to-back 180's and finishing 141 on double 12, Anderson turned to celebrate with Beau, who takes on Colin Lloyd in his first round match on December 17.

"Just thinking about it, just bringing it up now has made me teary because I hit one against Beau about six months ago in Queensland," Anderson said. "So just for him to be here and be part of this moment - we used to practice every day - and share the moment with him, I can't put words to it really."
