Phil Taylor has yet to pick up a point in this year's Premier League after the six-time champion suffered his third defeat from three games in the loss to Peter Wright in Belfast.

Taylor - who was whitewashed by reigning world champion and current Premier League king Michael van Gerwen on the opening night, and lost to Adrian Lewis last week - was beaten 7-4 by world championship runner-up Wright.

The first four legs were shared, but Wright raised his game in the fifth leg when he almost landed a nine-dart finish. After seven perfect darts, he missed treble 19, but still went on to take a 3-2 lead. And the momentum was with Wright as he claimed the first break of the match to go 4-3 in front after Taylor missed double 10 from 55.

Wright then won a sixth leg to take a point, before going on to secure his first victory over 'The Power' with double tops to leave Taylor with zero points after three matches.

Van Gerwen kept up his 100% record in this year's event with a 7-4 victory over debutant Dave Chisnall.

World Grand Prix finalist Chisnall made a bright start to the match by taking the opening leg with an 81 checkout, but Van Gerwen stormed into a 3-1 lead with three 180s along the way. Chisnall quickly levelled at 3-3, but Van Gerwen won three of the next four legs to guarantee himself a point at 6-4, and then sealed a third victory in three outings with a 93.

Robert Thornton got the better of fellow Scot Gary Anderson 7-2 to collect his first points of the campaign, throwing eight maximums to average 105.21. Adrian Lewis lost his winning start to the Premier League after being beaten 7-2 by two-time major finalist Wes Newton, and Raymond van Barneveld overcame Simon Whitlock 7-4 in the final match of the night.
