Leonard Corbett played as a centre for England 16 times, captaining them twice, and took part in all four matches when they won the Grand Slam in 1924. He was renowned for his robust tackling and contemporary reports often mention his ability to sell the dummy. He was also a good enough cricketer to play for Gloucestershire, and after retiring he wrote on rugby and cricket for the Sunday Times in between forging a successful business career.
