Gloucester have been buoyed by the news that star winger James Simpson-Daniel has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal with the club.

The former England international, who is nicknamed 'Sinbad', has seen his career repeatedly interrupted by injury and illness but he has again underlined this season that when fully fit he remains one of the most lethal finishers in the Aviva Premiership.

"It's great news," Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath said. "Sinbad is a huge part of what we are as a club and what we're hoping to achieve over the next few years."

"He's one of the most talented players that I've had the pleasure of working with and a true professional as well. He's a pleasure to work with."

Simpson-Daniel made his debut for the Cherry and Whites as a teenager in 2001 and has since gone on to make 232 appearances for the club, scoring 108 tries in the process.
