Wasps have confirmed the release of prop Jason Hobson, who has rejoined Championship side Bristol.

The 27-year-old endured an injury-ravaged time at Adams Park, having signed from Bristol in 2008, and made only two Premiership appearances for Wasps.

Capped once by England in 2008, he will bolster the ranks at the Memorial Stadium on a deal until the end of the season. Coach Paul Hull has lost Mako Vunipola to the England Under-20 squad and loanee Billy Moss to Bath in recent weeks

"We're at a crucial period in our season and without Billy Moss and Mako Vunipola we'd have been left with only three props and this could have put us in a vulnerable position at an important time," he said.

Wasps, meanwhile, have signed prop Arden Perrot from Wellington on a short-term deal.
