Leeds flanker Hendre Fourie has been recalled to the England squad to face Italy at Twickenham on Saturday after recovering from a calf strain.

Fourie replaces Wasps' Joe Worsley in the squad, having missed England's opening Six Nations clash against Wales last Friday in order to prove his fitness with a try-scoring run out in Leeds' Anglo-Welsh Cup defeat to Northampton.

Worsley, who came off the bench for England against Wales, is among 12 players released back to their clubs for Aviva Premiership action this weekend.

Martin Johnson will confirm his starting line-up at 12.00 GMT on Thursday but he is picking from a settled squad and if there are any changes at all from the Wales game, they are expected to minimal.

Players released to clubs:

Nick Abendanon (Bath), George Chuter (Leicester Tigers), Alex Corbisiero (London Irish), Paul Doran-Jones (Gloucester), Phil Dowson (Northampton Saints), Riki Flutey (London Wasps), Charlie Hodgson (Sale Sharks), Joe Simpson (London Wasps), James Simpson-Daniel (Gloucester Rugby), George Skivington (Leicester Tigers), David Strettle (Saracens), Joe Worsley (London Wasps)
