Relegation-threatened Leeds Carnegie have been buoyed by the news that three of the club's most promising young players have signed new deals with the club.

Props Phil Swainston and Gareth Denman, and lock Tom Denton have all put pen to paper on contract extensions, much to the delight of Leeds head coach Neil Back.

"Leeds Carnegie has a strong tradition of giving young players the chance to play at the highest level and all three of these players are proud Yorkshiremen who love playing for their club," he said. "We are in the process of securing our squad for next season and this is great news on the back of Marco Wentzel's new contract last week."

However, while Swainston, Denman and Denton will all be at Headingley next season, back-row Kearnan Myall and centre Luther Burrell will both be leaving Leeds at the end of the current campaign after turning down new contracts. Sale have already confirmed Myall will arrive at Edgely Park in the summer.
