Robshaw signs long-term Quins deal

Harlequins skipper Chris Robshaw has agreed a new long-term deal with the Aviva Premiership club.

The 24-year-old flanker has signed up until 2014, having made his debut against Pertemps Bees in the 2005-06 season. To date he has played 84 Premiership matches for the club.

Quins boss Conor O'Shea was delighted with the news of Robshaw's decision.

"Chris Robshaw embodies everything this club is and wants to be about," he said. "We know people will move on but our intention is to keep the core of this group together for a long period of time and we intend to act early so they can trust that they are in this together."

Robshaw, capped once by England, has ambitions of further international honours as well as success with Quins, beginning with next Friday's Amlin Challenge Cup final showdown with Stade Francais.

"We have a squad with a great mix of youth and experience and we are trying to play a brand of rugby that will excite and challenge," he said. "I believe that through Harlequins a number of us can achieve our aims of playing for a winning club at the highest level while also pursuing our dreams of playing for our country."
