QBE, a specialist in business insurance, will replace Investec as the RFU's sponsor for the autumn internationals.

The deal, which starts in September 2012, will run for four years, through to the end of July 2016. QBE are already shirt sponsors for Premiership Rugby and the move sees them increase their foothold in English rugby. The news will come as a welcome relief after the turbulent past couple of weeks for the RFU which saw Investec withdraw their support for the organisation and the much publicised departure of CEO John Steele.

Steven Burns, CEO, for QBE European Operations was understandably delighted. "We are very pleased to become the title sponsor of such a prestigious tournament in the sporting calendar," Burns said. "The partnership not only deepens our existing relationship with rugby, but also allows the QBE brand and business to grow in the longer term. We look forward to developing the series together with the RFU in the coming months."
