Toulouse hooker Gary Botha will be out for up to four months after breaking his right leg in Friday's Top 14 win over Montpellier.

The 30-year-old, who was won 12 caps for South Africa and only signed for Toulouse in the summer, was stretchered off early in the first half of the French champions' 45-25 win after his leg was trapped in a tackle.

"We are happy with the win but disappointed by the injury suffered by Botha who has broken his leg," said Toulouse coach Yannick Bru.

Toulouse have strength in depth at hooker with France international William Servat and Argentines Eusebio Guiñazú and Alberto Vernet Basualdo in their squad.
