Harlequins and England scrum-half Danny Care has penned a new three-year deal with the Aviva Premiership champions.

Care endured a mixed campaign last season. He was kicked out of the England squad for the 2012 Six Nations due to off-field ill-discipline but he ended the campaign on a high note as he played an instrumental part in their charge to the Premiership title. He went on to shine for England during their tour of South Africa and scored a try in their 14-14 draw in the third Test.

He will now look to cement his spot back in the England side and he will look to start the new season in a similar fashion to how he finished the last. Quins boss Conor O'Shea was delighted with the news and is looking forward to the scrum-half adding to his 116 appearances for Quins.

"For Danny to commit to us for this length of time is news that everyone at the club is delighted about," O'Shea said. "I am looking forward to watching Danny's continuing development both on and off the pitch over coming seasons and to seeing him become the player that we all know he can be."

Care added: "There is no other club that I want to play for so I'm pleased to extend my contract with Harlequins. I'm enjoying being part of a talented squad that is playing an attractive and successful style of rugby. Winning trophies is why we play professional rugby and having tasted some success in that regard, I would like more. I believe that the best is yet to come from our players which is why I'm looking forward to another three seasons with the club."
