Harlequins have confirmed that they have released Tim Fairbrother from his contract to allow the prop to return home to New Zealand.
Fairbrother joined Harlequins in the summer of 2011 but suffered numerous injuries last season which restricted his appearances to just 13 for Quins. Fairbrother arrived at Quins from the Western Force and had previously played for the Hurricanes. Fairbrother will now "take some time out of the game" to consider his options.
Quins boss Conor O'Shea paid tribute to Fairbrother saying: "While Tim's first team appearances may have been limited after an excellent start to last season, he has made a major contribution to the club and to our ultimate success in winning the Aviva Premiership.
"His work behind the scenes with our young front row forwards has been invaluable and I have no doubt he will continue to have a successful career ahead of him. We are very grateful to him and wish him and his family all the very best for the future."
