The England Saxons coaching team has been finalised ahead of their matches with the Ireland Wolfhounds and Scotland A in the New Year.

Head coach Jon Callard and forwards coach Simon Hardy have been joined by ex-Newcastle Falcons coach John Fletcher. He will look after the backs and will combine his time with the Saxons with his role as England Under 18s head coach and the Rugby Football Union's professional player development manager.

The Saxons face the Wolfhounds in Ireland towards the end of January and then play Scotland A at Kingston Park on February 1. And Callard is delighted with the addition of Fletcher to his backroom staff.

"We are delighted to have John on board as we focus on winning two demanding games," Callard said. "His expertise working with a wide group of players makes him a perfect fit for England Saxons and he'll bring tremendous passion to the role."
