Samoa have named Worcester Warriors winger David Lemi as captain for their three-match tour of Europe in November.

Lemi takes on the skipper's armband from hooker Mahonri Schwalger, the man who was charged with leading the Pacific Islanders to the 2011 World Cup. But with the country now setting their sights on the global gathering in three years time, coach Stephen Betham has opted to bring in some new blood.

There are six uncapped players in the squad with Blues lock Filo Paulo, soon-to-be London Irish player Setaimata Sa, Robert Lilomaiava, Tivai Foma'i, Viliamu Afatia and Auvasa Faleali'i all given the nod.

There are also a host of Aviva Premiership players in the mix with Harlequins' Maurie Fa'asavalu and London Irish's Ofisa Treviranus both getting the nod.

Samoa will play Canada at Colwyn Bay on November 9 and will then travel to Cardiff to face Wales on November 16. They will finish off their three-match tour when they face France in Paris on November 23.

Samoa squad: Sakaria Taulafo, Logovi'i Mulipola, Census Johnston, Viliamu Afatia, Ti'i Paulo, Ole Avei, Daniel Leo, Fa'atiga Lemalu, Joe Tekori, Filo Paulo, Taiasina Tuifu'a, Ofisa Treviranus, Maurie Fa'asavalu, Tivani Foma'I, Kane Thompson, Kahn Fotuali'i, Jeremy Su'a, Auvasa Faleali'i, Tusi Pisi, Ki Anufe, Setaimata Sa, Seilala Mapusua, Paul Williams, Robert Lilomaiava, David Lemi (captain), Reupenna Levasa, Paul Perez, Fa'atoina Autagavaia, Alesana Tuilagi, one to be added.
