Jonny May has signed a new contract with Gloucester.

The 22-year-old, who was called up to England's touring squad during their tour of South Africa in the summer, has committed his immediate future to the Aviva Premiership club. May, who can operate at wing, centre or fullback, began his career with Gloucester and has matured into one of the most exciting backline talents in the country, with his electrifying paces yielding rave reviews and 10 tries in 22 matches last season.

He has been capped at England Saxons level and Gloucester director of rugby Nigel Davies is delighted May has opted to continue his development at Kingsholm.

Davies said: "Jonny has so much talent. He's already achieved a lot with Gloucester Rugby, but he's got so much potential that I genuinely think that we've only just scratched the surface of what he can achieve.

"It's great news for the club that he's committed his future to us. He's spent his whole career at Gloucester, and is happy with the direction we're heading in. We want to keep this core group of players together as there's a bright future ahead."
