England will be without star loose-head Alex Corbisiero for Saturday's Test against the All Blacks at Twickenham.
Reports suggested Corbisiero was forced to visit a specialist to assess a knee problem and Stuart Lancaster has confirmed he will not be fit in time to face New Zealand. With Corbisiero and Mako Vunipola sidelined, England are likely to start Joe Marler at loose-head, though the Harlequins prop is currently being assessed for concussion sustained against Argentina last weekend.
Wasps' Matt Mullan has been added to the mix and is likely to play some part in Saturday's game. However, his club team-mate Christian Wade has been released to Wasps after he missed out on the chance to make his debut against Argentina due to an injury sustained in England training.
London Irish's Marland Yarde, who started against Australia, is also omitted so Ben Foden looks set to continue on the wing alongside Chris Ashton for the Test on Saturday.
"Alex Corbisiero took part in this morning's forwards training session but suffered some discomfort to his knee," Lancaster said. "He did not train this afternoon and will not be available for selection for the weekend.
"It is disappointing for Alex, having missed last year's Six Nations because of an injury to his other knee, but Matt Mullan has been with us all week and is raring to go in the 23. Marland Yarde took part in training today but is not fully fit to be considered for the game.
"We've had a good start to the week and now it's a case of tapering down the training and getting ourselves ready for the ultimate challenge. The Twickenham crowd has been great over the last two weeks and we know they will be just as vocal as they were against New Zealand last year."
