Olly Barkley linked with Scarlets after Grenoble exit

Olly Barkley has been linked with a move to the Scarlets after leaving Grenoble midway through a two-year deal.

Barkley's departure from Grenoble was confirmed on Wednesday and he has now been linked with a move to the Scarlets while Bristol, Newcastle and Worcester are also understood to be interested in his services.

Barkley, who has 23 caps for England, joined Grenoble before the start of this season after a short spell at Racing Metro but the two parties agreed to terminate his contract.

"Olly Barkley is no longer part of the squad," a club official confirmed. "Grenoble weren't able to integrate Olly into their gameplan. It was in his interest and that of the club that we went our separate ways."
