Fiji international Josh Matavesi has signed for the Ospreys and will leave the Worcester Warriors at the end of the season.

Matavesi has penned a two-year deal with the Welsh region and he is relishing the chance to try his hand in the RaboDirect PRO12.

"I've been down for a look around the place and I liked what I saw and heard," Matavesi said. "Steve Tandy and Andy Lloyd presented how they see the Ospreys developing and how they want the team to go and I really want to be a part of it. There's a very good youth system with lots of good players coming through, which does excite me.

"The coaches want the team to play a good style of rugby, which is important to me. It's a young squad, particularly among the backs, but with plenty of games behind them. I've been around a fair bit myself now, despite being relatively young, and hopefully I can add something different."

For Worcester coach Dean Ryan, his side are currently battling relegation and he hopes to get the best out of Matavesi for the rest of the season.

"Josh has been an asset to the Warriors during his time at the club and I know he will remain focused on the task here for the rest of the season."
