Sale Sharks will meet Salford Red Devils in a cross-code match in aid of charity.
The match will take place on August 26 at the AJ Bell Stadium with one half played under union rules and the other under the auspices of league. The game will be in aid of charities The Prince's Trust and Maggie's.
"Everyone at Sale Sharks is very excited about taking on our friends and rivals in League," Sale boss Steve Diamond said. "Our players will definitely be up for the challenge and I'm sure our fans will be there making plenty of noise"
Brian Noble, Salford Red Devils head coach, added: "This is a great opportunity for our guys to pit their skills against different athletes. It will be a big challenge but I think they'll relish it. The fact that this is for two such fantastic causes is going to be a big motivator for both teams."
Previous cross-code matches have been hugely popular with Bath taking on Wigan in 1996 and Sale then facing St Helens in 2003 - a match the Sharks won 41-39.
