Fiji will have centrally contracted Sevens players for next season as Ben Ryan brings in a three-tier wage system.

Ryan announced the new contracts on Friday and revealed the top Fijian Sevens players will be earning in the region of FIJ$20,000 (£6,489). There are 15 contracts on offer and Ryan, who brought in central contracts during his tenure at England, will reveal just who is being rewarded with a deal in the coming weeks.

"So the structure will be on three tiers," Ryan told the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation. "The bottom will be $15,000 the middle, $17,500 and top tier $20,000. All players will be on probationary period and will have to hit standards on and off the field to maintain discipline and also show that they are playing to the best of their ability."
