Bath captain Stuart Hooper re-signs

Bath captain Stuart Hooper has signed on for a further season at the Recreation Ground.

There were suggestions Hooper was contemplating retiring at the end of the campaign but he has agreed to play on for another season. Hooper has made 174 appearances for Bath and coach Mike Ford was delighted with his decision.

"Stuart represents everything that's good about Bath Rugby," Ford said. "I've said before that he's the best captain I've ever worked with. You couldn't ask for a better leader out there on the field and I'm looking forward to working with him again next season."

Hooper added: "I'm more eager than ever to carry on the good work that we've started at the club. We're getting better year on year and I've no doubt we're closer than ever to achieving something great here at Bath Rugby."
