Sean McMahon was one of the few Wallabies starting players to properly use his chance against the USA Eagles to earn points in the Growden Medal. With David Pocock and Michael Hooper being rested, McMahon excelled in the openside flanker position to easily be the man of the match. McMahon's drive, work at the breakdown and ball in hand play made him a standout.

Kane Douglas was also industrious, performing well at the set-piece, winning numerous lineouts, and was often sighted in open play. Adam Ashley-Cooper, who did not play in Chicago, remains the award leader.
