English clubs made a clean sweep of Europe's top tournament on the weekend of  November 20-22, 2015. When did that last happen? Nigel Ross, England

The six English clubs racked up six wins, as you say. The results were:

  • Ulster 9-27 Saracens
  • Treviso 3-36 Leicester
  • Bath 19-16 Leinster
  • Glasgow 15-26
  • Northampton Exeter 34-19 Bordeaux-Bègles
  • Wasps 32-6 Toulon

It was the English clubs' first clean sweep of the pool stages for 40 rounds. The last time English clubs were all-conquering in Europe was in the third round of the 2008-09 Heineken Cup tournament.

For the record, the teams and scores on that weekend of December 5-7, 2008, were as follows:

  • Edinburgh 16-25 Wasps
  • Sale 36-6 Montauban
  • Calvisano 17-40 Gloucester
  • Stade Français 10-15 Harlequins
  • Leicester 38-27 Perpignan
  • Bath 35-31 Glasgow

Leicester went on to reach the Final that season, losing 19-16 to Leinster at Murrayfield.
