Record crowd expected for Heineken Cup Final
May 9, 2000

The Heineken Cup final at Twickenham on 27 May is on course to smash all atendance records.

The enormous interest for the showdown between Munster and Northampton is set to put the 49,000 who packed out last season's final in Dublin in the shade.

Twickenham has a capacity of 74,500 but Munster, who had around 3,000 supporters at Stade Lescure in Bordeaux to witness their stunning 31-25 victory over Toulouse, are already being inundated with ticket requests and confidently predict a five-figure contingent travelling across the Irish Sea alone.

"I fully expect about 30,000 of our supporters to make the trip over to Twickenham," said Munster official John Coleman. And, with London-based Irish supporters just a short train ride away from Twickenham, Mick Galwey's men are again sure of fantastic support.

There will be a special four-person ticket package at £40 to encourage making it a family occasion with prices ranging from £30, £25 down to £10. Tickets can be purchased through the Twickenham ticket hotline on (0044) 20 73 44 44 44 or through the Munster and Northampton offices.
