Dawson fit for Tetley's final

England captain Matt Dawson has declared himself fit for the Tetley's Bitter Cup final between Northampton and Wasps at Twickenham on Saturday.

The Saints scrum-half suffered a shoulder injury during last weekend's Heineken Cup semi-final victory over Llanelli.

But Dawson took a full part in Northampton's training session today, and said: ``There was no problem at all out there.

``There was no structural damage to the shoulder, it was a knock I'd had earlier in the season.''

And Northampton are set to receive a double boost with skipper Pat Lam confident of making the starting line-up.

The Samoan has also been troubled by a shoulder injury, but said today: ``I feel confident that I will be right by Saturday.''

The main injury concerns for Saints rugby director John Steele are wing Craig Moir and lock Jon Phillips.

Moir was undergoing a scan on his injured knee today, while Phillips suffered a hamstring problem during the Heineken Cup semi-final.

Steele hopes to name his cup final side tomorrow after the fitness tests have been sorted out, but he could leave it until Friday
