Oxford University notch second tour success

Oxford University trounced Doshisha University 24-7 here on Wednesday for a second straight win in the three-game rugby union series.

The visitors, who powered past Japanese student champions Keio University 49-19 in Tokyo Sunday, led 14-0 at half time.

Tom Turmezei, Justin Hendriksz and Sebastian Fitzgerald touched down in the third, 24th and 79th minutes. Fitzgerald converted all the tries and added another penalty three minutes into the second half.

The visitors, on their ninth visit to Japan following their inaugural tour of 1952, take on Kanto Gakuin University on Sunday.
