Healey assesses his future
May 21, 2001

Tigers' Heineken Cup hero Austin Healey has not ruled out a move away from Leicester when his current contract runs out at the end of next season.

Speaking in the aftermath of the pulsating Heineken Cup Final that saw the Tigers triumph in injury time, Healey told The Times, "I've won everything with Leicester now, so I've got to assess where I am -- there's the Lions tour then I'm taking a week's holiday and it's the start of the season again. You have to think how you are going to keep going."

Healey, 27, hinted that the future for his family may lie back where he began his rugby career, in the north of England, "We're starting a family this year. Me and Louise are both from the North and there's a chance that we'd want to go back there," he told the newspaper.

"It's difficult to enthuse yourself all the time. I'm not saying that I'm going to leave, but I'm thinking about the future. I've got a year left on my contract with Leicester, and there's the World Cup in 2003, but I do need to sit and have a think and work things out now."
