Canada ring the changes for England clash
May 31, 2001

Leicester's Winston Stanley is one of five changes to the Canadian side which will take on England in the first Test in Markham on Saturday.

Stanley missed last week's bruising 20-6 defeat to Argentina after completing his club commitments with the Treble-winning Tigers, but is selected at full-back for a game which pits him against six of his Welford Road team-mates.

Another notable return is that of scrum-half Morgan Williams. The Stade Francais half-back was part of the side defeated by Leicester in the Heineken Cup final two weeks ago, and has been released following his club's demise against Biarritz last week.

Bob Ross and Nik Witkowski are recalled to the back division, while Cardiff flanker Dan Baugh is back from suspension. Former Bristol back-row Al Charron has the chance to extend his Canadian caps record, while Rotherham's Mike Schmid has to make do with a seat on the replacements' bench.

The Canadians have had disciplinary problems so far this year and were the victims of three yellow cards and a red for Ryan Brooks against thePumas. Brooks sits out the game with a one-week suspension, while Stade Francais fly-half Mike James has chosen not to link up with the squad because is wife is due to give birth in Paris.
