Healey chills out but injuries ease

England stars Jonny Wilkinson and Austin Healey missed Lions training in Perth on Tuesday but there was better news of the Welsh contingent.

Wilkinson is still troubled by a groin strain he picked up before the 37-man party flew out to face the Wallabies, and is unlikely to be considered for the tour opener against Western Australia on Friday.

Leicester's Healey, meanwhile, was suffering from the effects of a cold but is expected to be available for selection.

Wales prop David Young was able to take a full part in training for the first time since his arrival, giving his injured calf a thorough workout, and international team-mates Neil Jenkins and Martyn Williams were also active after recovering from the after-effects of a cut eye and ankle problem respectively.

And former Wigan rugby league star Jason Robinson may also be pitched in as he attempts to complete an unbelievable nine-month rise from union rookie to fully-fledged Lion after also overcoming an ankle knock.

Henry is set to name his team on Wednesday to face one of Australia's weakest provincial sides, although the hosts may yet be bolstered by more temporary recruits.

Ex-Saracens fly-half Duncan McRae and Wallaby prop Patricio Noriega are on the bench, and Australia's coach Rod Macqueen may insist that prospective Test stars such as Rod Kafer and Ben Tune are included in the home side.
