Worsley makes remarkable return

Joe Worsley will make a remarkable return for London Wasps this weekend after undergoing surgery just seven days ago.

Worsley will line up for the London club in their opening Heineken Cup clash against Stade Francais in the Heineken Cup at Loftus Road on Sunday.

Worsley was injured against Harlequins last weekend and had to have his scrotum stitched back together. beaten in last season's final by Leicester.

Nigel Melville, the Wasps director of rugby, told the Evening Standard, "Joe was told that area is the quickest healing on the body and the medical people were right.

"It's a big boost to have him fit and with Ian Jones making his debut, after arriving from New Zealand on Monday, we are able to put out a strong side."

Injuries have still kept England outside-half Alex King and scrum-half Martyn Wood out of the game and if Wasps win, it will be one of their greatest victories.

Melville added, "We cannot afford to be downbeat and the players have been great this week with Ian Jones making a big difference. The line-out area has troubled us more than any other aspect of the game, and who better to sort it out than him. He is fit and raring to go."

At least one Wasps fan will be celebrating no matter what the result on Sunday as Heineken are giving away "Beer for a Year" to the lucky fan chosen at random on the day.
