Famous old Blues select their greatest XVs

To coincide witht eh 120th Varsity Match that takes place at Twickenham next Tuesday, the sponsors, MMC, have asked two famous old Blues, Phil de Glanville and Damian Hopley, to put their heads together and come up with their respective best Oxford and Cambridge sides. De Glanville, the former England captain, now on the management team at Bath, and Hopley, busy running the Professional Rugby Players' Association, have chosen the following XVs: OXFORD: Hugo MacNeill (1982-84, Ireland); Ronnie Poulton (1909-11, England), Simon Halliday (1979-81, England), Brendan Mullin (1986-87, Ireland), Alexander Obolensky (1935-38, England); Richard Sharp (1959-61, England), Onllwyn Brace (1955-56, Wales); Toshiyuki Hayashi (1990, Japan), Roy Allaway (1953-55), John Kendall-Carpenter (1948-50, England), John Currie (1954-57, England), Frans ten Bos (1958-60, Scotland), Peter Dixon (1967-70, England), Peter Robbins (1954-57, England), Mark Egan (captain, 1988-90).
